Who We Are
Together, as a group of dedicated parents, professional teachers, committed administration and lively children
engaged in the learning process, we form the Sebastopol Independent Charter School.
Who We Serve
Celebrating our 10-year Anniversary next year, we are proud to offer a complete curriculum to over 200 children in
grades K-7th, next year we'll add our 8th grade. The school uses the Waldorf Curriculum' and hires Waldorf trained
teachers, In America, the Waldorf curriculum has been primarily used by private schools charging thousands of dollars
per child per year. This has severely limited access for those who do not have the extensive means to afford the private
school. The Charter School concept allows children from families of all economic levels to enjoy access to the Waldorf Curriculum.
California Charter Schools:
Mandated in 1992 by the California Legislature, Charter schools are free in their choice of educational philosophy,
governance procedures and admissions criteria, subject to the approval of the local school district. Our school has a
Board of Directors that assures the running of an efficient and effective school.
